This is an old pottery flower frog with two little birds perched on a base with holes for the flower stems. One bird is painted dark blue with a yellow throat and the other bird is painted cardinal red with a little black on its tail and wing tips. The base is painted a mottled green and brown with branch leaves painted in dark brown. The glaze on the red bird is slightly matte and the rest of the frog has a high gloss glaze. The base has five holes for the flower stems. On the bottom is an impressed marked that reads; Made in Japan. I believe this is probably from the 1930’s.
It measures about 4 1/8” tall to the top of the blue bird and the base measures about 3 3/8” by 4 3/8”. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. There appears to be some newspaper print attached to the bottom which I have shown in the photos.
