This old talc tin with its stylized graphics once held a fragrant powder called Biarritz. The domed lid on the oval tin has a deco influenced seascape with gulls in the sky and a sail boat in the ocean. The decorative French inspired scene is repeated on the side of the tin so it has appeal no matter how it’s being viewed. The following information discretely blends into the dune of the landscape on the lid; Biarritz Dusting Powder - Cheramy Paris-New York. The small rim on the lid, the bottom and the inside of the tin all have a gold/brass finish. I believe this is from the late 1920’s.
It measures about 4 5/8” long by 4” wide by 2 ¾” to the outer rim doming slightly in the center. The empty is in very nice condition with good color and gloss and minimal scuff and scratch. The bottom and inside are clean also. The inside is still quite fragrant.
