The Edwards Wire Rope company uses the slogan; You Can Bet Your Life on Edwards. The etched logo on one side of the gauge shows a man suspended in the air holding onto a crane cable that one would assume is made of Edwards Wire rope. The gauge is made of a non magnetic metal with an attached caliper. The table has increments for interior and exterior measurements. The long edge has a 6” rule which is divided into 32nds. One end of the gauge is marked Stainless Steel which might refer to the type of wire rope this gage was intended for. The gauge has a copyright date of 1938. There is no address for Edwards but it might be the company in Oklahoma.
It measures about 7” long by 2 11/16” wide at the bottom edge and is in very nice, legible condition with minimal wear or discoloration to the metal.
