This little boy is a tribute to all boys that have accepted a diploma as a symbol of their accomplishment. The young man has an innocent face and bright eyes of anticipation. He’s wear the traditional, tasseled cap and gown and in his hand is his diploma. It appears that most of the paint is not glazed. It looks like the corners of the mortarboard and the back of the cape are feathered with paint just like the toes on the shoes. Across the bottom of the base it reads; Congratulations. On the bottom in an original, foiled paper label that reads; Reg. U.S. Pat. Off - Norcrest - Crafted in Japan. It is also stamped; F-929. Whether the boy is graduating from day care, kindergarten, grade school, high school or college, this little porcelain will always be a small reminder of their graduation day. I believe this is from the 1950’s or 1960’s.
He measures about 4 ½” tall and the base measures about 1 ½” by 1 7/8” and is in good condition with minimal paint wear and no damage.
