This old advertising piece is a celluloid compact. On one side is the advertising for Kremola by the C.H. Berry Co. of Chicago and New York. It has an illustration of the aluminum tin that the skin cream actually came in It also has the slogan; Makes Skin Beautiful. The other side of the compact is a portrait of the young woman that appeared on many of the Berry products. The portrait side is "the lid" of the compact. When taken off it reveals the powder compartment. The lid side is also the side that has the mirror. On the edge are the patent dates of 1915 and 1917 by the Parisian Novelty Co. of Chicago, the makers of the compact. This comes with the original powder applicator with a celluloid back.
The compact measures almost 2 ¼” in diameter and 3/8” thick. The celluloid is in nice condition with good color and no dents but there is some dimpling and a small dent along one edge. The mirror is not cracked or broken and is in generally good condition with minimal ghosting.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
