This young, pottery woman is an old head vase. She’s dressed in yellow with a matching yellow hat, both are adorned with a flower that resembles a rose. The hat is also decorated with several small flowers in a multitude of colors. The flowers and leaves are also accented with a bit of gold. There is a large bow applied to the back of the hat. Her face and hair are without color except for the gold detailing. Her paleness and demeanor give her a slightly oriental appearance. She has characteristics of being made by one of the many California potteries but I have not been able to identify a specific company. There are no marks or labels on the bottom.
She measures about 6” high to the top of the hat with the flower adding additional height and it measures about 4 5/8” across the brim on the hat. She is in nice condition with minor wear. There is age crazing to the glaze and some water calcium reside inside from use.
