This is an old depiction of a quaint, country style kitchen. On one side of the scene is a table and bench. On the table is a bowl of “fruit”, an newspaper and a pair of spectacles. Over the window with gingham curtains is a shelf with a painted wood bowl and a few canned items. There’s a clock, a little lantern a butter churn and a broom. There is also a counter or stove with a tea kettle besides other odds and ends including a little white mouse. Most of the items are made of wood or plastic. It’s hard to say if there is anything missing as it is a somewhat crudely made piece with not a lot of attention to finish work yet very pleasing and inviting. At first one might think this was a home craft project but upon closer look on the back you can see the original, Enesco - Made in Taiwan - Republic of China, foiled paper label as well as a stamp that reads; Enesco Imports 1974. Even the hanger on the back is stamped Taiwan.
It measures about 10 5/8” wide by 7 ¾” high by 1 ½” deep and is in fairly good, original condition. There appears to be a chip of wood off of a little shelf in the center and some water stain damage, mostly on the lower portion (they must have had a leaky rook). As previously mentioned, it is hard to know for certain whether anything is missing so it is being sold as-is.
