This is an old hammer of nice proportions and is probably considered a machinist, gunsmith or jeweler’s hammer. One end of the small, steel head has a round, flat face and the other end is a ball pein head. The head is peened onto a steel shaft that runs through the handle grip which appears to be wrapped leather with a brass spacer at either end. I find no maker or other identifying information.
It measures about 6 3/8” long and the head measures about 1 ¾” from the hammer face to the back of the ball end. The flat face measures about 7/16” across and the total weight is 2 ounces. It appears to be in good condition and none of the surfaces have been polished. The leather shows age wear and discoloration from use.
