This old toddler doll is made of painted composition and has sweetest face with blushed cheeks, a little pouty mouth and brown, lashed sleep eyes. It has a jointed head and arms and legs with blush on the back of the hands and on the knees. It has molded hair which is pale brown. It has the look of an Effanbee doll and although there is a mark on the back, I am unable to make out anything except, perhaps, the letter D. The doll can stand on it’s own or be in a seated position. I believe it is from the 1930’s.
He, or she, measures about 11” high and is in nice condition. There appear to be no bad crazing and only one crack in the composition which is on the top of the head. I have shown this in the photos. The color and gloss are good. The paint is worn at the neck, arm and leg joints and there is some wear to the paint on the fingers and toes. The right arm has a manufacturing flaw which I have shown in the photos and there is a chip on the thumb, also shown in the photos. The eyes open and close well and the eye lashes are good. This baby comes without clothes, ready to be outfitted and loved.
