This lovely old doll, made by the Duchess Doll Corporation, is none other than Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. She’s made of hard plastic and is dressed in her original costume, a white, faux brocade dress trimmed in beige lace and gold. Over her shoulders is a royal red, velveteen like cape. Atop her head is a “crown” of gold. She also has her original panties and “crinoline” like half slip, both stapled on. She has wavy auburn hair, blue sleep eyes with large painted lashes and a stately mouth that is painted deep red. She is stiff legged with painted shoes but her head and arms are jointed. She comes in her original cardboard box that identifies her as Queen Elizabeth. There is also a number which I believe is either #700 or #701. The box has its inner liner and cellophane window. I believe she is from the mid 1950’s, probably shortly after she took the throne.
She measures about 7 ½” tall and is in very good condition with minimally mussed hair and crisp clothes. The clothes are basically clean, however, over the past 50 plus years, the red has bled onto the white of the dress and onto the plastic hands. It is not noticeable unless you lift the cape. I have shown this in the photos.
The box measures about 10 7/8” by 11 7/8” by 2 1/8” and is in good condition with minimal edge wear. The cellophane is in tact.
