This sweet celluloid baby doll was made in Germany by the Buschow & Beck company. On its back is the helmet mark over Minerva - 23 ½ - Germany. It has painted facial features and molded hair. Her head is stationary but the arms and bent legs are jointed and it has the typical baby paunch. It comes without clothes and in need of a wardrobe. I believe this is from the 1920’s - 1930’s.
The baby measures about 9” from head to toe while lying down and about 6 ½” high sitting up. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. The stringing is weak but as you can see in the photos it will sit up to some degree. The arms and legs are a different color than the torso but I do believe they are original to the body.
