This colorful, old pillow top, which has never been made into a pillow (open on one side), is a souvenir of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. A poem of the West is at the bottom and there are numerous scenes and attractions such as Cheyenne Mountain, the Will Rogers Shrine and the Broadmoor Hotel all against a rich, shimmering gold background. The back of the pillow is a pale, pea soup green and has nothing on it. It comes in its original envelope, with a cellophane window, that reads; Beautiful Boudoir Gift Pillow - Satin Rayon - Ready to Fill. On the back of the envelope there is a place for To and From and a 1 1/2c postage stamp. I would assume it to be from the 1930’s or possibly 40’s.
It measures about 10” wide by 11 ¼” to the salvage end and was probably suppose to be made to fit a 10” square pillow. It is in very good, unused condition. The envelope has discoloration from the glue, some wrinkles and small tears.
