This colorful, old noisemaker is a tambourine made of tin with a large clown face on the front. The side is made of a strip of tin that has partial images of clowns and balloons. There are also three sets of cymbals on the side that make a ringing clamor when shaken. It is only marked; Made in U.S.A. within a circle with no company name. I believe this was probably made in the 1960’s.
It measures about 7 1/8” in diameter, excluding the tin cymbal disks that stick out beyond the edge, by 1 ¼” thick. It is in nice condition with good gloss and minor scuff and scratch wear. There is some paint loss to the rolled outer edge.
