This little tin was for an old product called Jin-tan. These were apparently a silver coated pellet-like pill that was a Japanese candy/medicine that was developed in the early 1900’s. This is a dispensing tin similar to the Sen-Sen tins. On the front of the metal tin is the name and a raised design. To dispense a pellet you slide the lever on the side to open the hole on the bottom. The lid comes off so it can be refilled.
It measures about 1 ¾” by 1 5/16” by ¼” and it is in fairly nice condition with minor dents. There is some discoloration to the finish on the front edge and on the bottom edges where the plating has apparently come off.
