This old hardbound book, by novelist John Fox Jr., is titled The Trail of the Lonesome Pine. The story is a romance western set in the Appalachian Mountains at the turn of the twentieth century. Over the years the story has been adapted for the stage and theater due to its popularity. It has 422 pages with a handful of illustrations by F.C.Yohn. This was copyrighted in 1908 by Charles Schribner’s Sons and was published in 1908 by Grosett & Dunlap of New York. No dust jacket.
It measures about 5 3/8” by 7 5/8” by 1 3/8” and is in good but used condition. The inside pages are generally crisp and clean with minimal wear and occasional soiling as shown in the photos. There are a few folded corners. The spine is generally tight. The previous owners name is written on two pages and the selling book dealers stamp in on one page. The hard cover is in fair condition with minor edge and corner wear and some stains and soiling. The spine edge is faded. As previously stated this has no dust jacket.
