This beautiful pressed glass storage jar was used as a crushed fruit jar, commonly found on the back bar of old soda fountains to hold crushed pineapple or strawberries for making sundaes and banana splits. Some call this a humidor but because of the large knob lid I think it is more appropriate to assume it was used in the soda fountain. The heavy glass has a pretty pressed design. The outside edge of the lid and the inside edge of the jar are frosted to give the lid a snug, airtight fit. It's an eloquent looking jar for holding almost anything.
Overall it measures about 8 7/8" tall and about 4 5/8" in diameter at the bottom. It is in generally good condition with minimal wear. The top inside edge of the jar and the bottom edge of the lid both have small chips which some can be seen in the photos.
