Although this poem is rather common for a motto, this is a beautiful, old example. The poem titled "Mother! Home!" was written by John Jarvis Holden, a poet who wrote many poems about Mother in the early 1900's. The picture has a charming house with a colorful landscape. The frame has a carved face with a geometric design and is painted blue with gold highlights and edges. It has a copyright by Reliance P.F.Co. of New York & Chicago. On what appears to be the original paper back is penciled; May 13, 1928 - Mama From Hilda. It presently has no hanging device but would make a lovely wall hanging.
It measures about 7” by 9” and is in very nice condition with minor wear. The glass is in tact with no damage but there is some light soiling under the glass in the upper right corner by the clouds. The paper on the back shows wear with the nails poking through in a couple of places, a few small holes and a tear across the top and some staining.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
