This older hardbound book features the outrageous, fantasy art of Boris Vallejo. The book begins with an introduction by Lester del Rey which gives the reader a basic biography and background of Mr. Vallejo and his art career. The text is followed by 40, full color plates which showcase the 1970’s artwork that brought attention to this Peruvian painter. The paintings are a blend of fantasy and often seductive images. Each plate is accompanied by the date, title and size of the original work. Many of the pieces were done for use as comic and other book covers. This has a 1978 copyright and was published by Ballantine Books. This was a Book Club Edition and a previous Library copy.
