This old cookbook was written by the chef and food enthusiast, Helen Corbitt. Her love for food is demonstrated throughout the book that covers a wide variety of foods. Take a look at the index to see the varied categories from appetizers to “this & that”. Helen draws from her experiences on the east coast, Texas and at Neiman Marcus’ yet the recipes seem simple and easily understood. The “decorations”, which is a better fitting term than illustrations, were done by Joe Allen Hong. This is a twenty-ninth printing of the popular edition with a 1957 copyright date. It was published by Houghton Mifflin Co. of Boston. No dust jacket.
It measures about 5 ¾” by 8 ½” by 1 ¼” and is in very nice condition with minimal wear. The inside pages are crisp and clean and the spine is tight. The linen cover shows minimal edge and corner wear. It is a previous library copy with notations and stamped evidence of such as shown in the photos.
