This is an old set of bib clips in their original plastic box. The “Twin Turtles” were used to turn any towel or napkin into a convenient baby’s bib. Each of the pink turtles has a spring so the turtles mouth can snap onto a piece of fabric. The turtles are joined together with a piece of pink cotton tape with an adjustable slide for adjusting the size. The information on the back of the paper backing says this was a practical accessory that was appreciated when dining out or traveling. Being pink, these were probably the version made for little girls. These come in their original, round plastic box with a slip on lid. The back of the clips identify these as having been made by the Federal Tool Corp. of Chicago. I would guess that these are from the 1940’s or 1950’s.
The turtles measure about 1 ½” head to tail and about 1” wide. They are in very good, apparently unused condition with minimal wear and no damage. The box measures about 3 3/16” in diameter by 7/8” thick. There is a little scratch wear and discoloration to the box and there are also a few small cracks.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
