This is a beautiful and functional, old piece of Heisey in a very simple pattern. These were used in old soda fountains and restaurants as well as in the home. It was made by A.H. Heisey & Co. of Newark, Ohio and in their 1913 catalog it is described as the No.359 - 12 Oz. Sanitary Syrup, Patent No. 40601. It is clear glass with an applied handle and in the center of the bottom is the Diamond H trademark as well as what appears to be April 5 1910. The Diamond H trade mark is also on either side of the spout. I have tried to point this out in one of the photos. The plated metal lid is a removable slip on style with a hinged section operated by the thumb tab. On the inside it reads; Pat’d April 5, 1910. This pitcher would also work well for salad dressings.
It measures about 4 ¼” tall to the lip of the pitcher, slightly higher with the thumb lever, and the base measures about 3 ¾” in diameter. It is in very good original condition with minor wear to the glass. There is a very faint amount of ghosting ion the inside. There is minimal roughness to the top edge under the lid. The nickel plating on the lid is fairly good but there is some discoloration, scratches and minor plating loss. The inside of the lid has worn plating and discoloration.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
