This old glass bottle of Hires Root Beer concentrate comes with its original box and paper pamphlet. Hires Extract and For Home Use is embossed on alternate sides of the clear glass bottle that appears to have it original contents. The bottle measures about 2 5/8” high and about 1” square and is in very good condition with the cork still in tact. I have not removed the cork but assume the contents are solidified.
The box is marked SAMPLE on one side with instruction on two sides. The box has a copyright date of 1929. The box measures about 3 1/16” by 1 1/8” square and is in very good condition with minimal wear. It presently has shrink wrap over it to protect it.
This also comes with the advertisement that was inside the box. The folded paper has directions and recipes for using Hires. There is a recipe for making root beer candy dice and one for making a Black Cow. The paper in its unfolded state is about 8 ½” by 11 5/8” and folded it measures about 3” by 4 ¼”. It is in good condition with minor crease wear, other than the fold marks, and minor discoloration.
