This old, Stetson fedora has a classic design like you would expect to find on a movie star. It is very soft to the touch and is probably considered a plush velour. The rich, black felt has a matching band that is six strands of twisted braid with a short tuft of pheasant feathers. The crown has a deep crease and the short brim is turned up with a rolled, stitched edge. Inside the crown is the Stetson logo. The leather head band has the following information; John B. Stetson Company - Royal DeLuxe Stetson. It also has identification that is was sold by the Riverside Men’s Shop of Buffalo, New York. Also stamped into the band are the initials WJC which are probably the initials of the original owner. It has a tag indicating it is a size 7. I believe this is from the 1950’s or 60’s.
The opening measures about 6 ¼” across and 7 ½” front to back or about 21 ¾” in circumference. The outer edge of the brim measures about 11” front to back and 9 ¼” across and it measures about 5” high off the table. It is in very good condition with very minimal wear.
