This is an old, Ginn Basic Reader by David Russell and others titled "Finding New Neighbors". These hardback books were a big part of many a childhood and they made learning to read fun. There are 319 pages including the teacher’s section listing the new words in the book. Finding New Neighbors was a Third Reader, Level 1 that followed Around the Corner and has copyright dates from 1949 to 1961.
It measures about 6 ½” by 9” by 7/8” and is in fair condition. It has a tight spine and the inside pages are mostly clean with minor soiling and occasional pencil marks. The fly page was stamped with the school district which has been crossed out with pen. A few of the interior pages also have the school stamp but have not been crossed out. The hard cover shows considerable edge and corner wear from use and some soiling.
