This colorful old brooch is nicely made in a goldtone metal. The form is like a star burst or a comet with a trailing tail. The center section has 7 faceted, faux coral stones that measure about 5mm each. Around them are 8 faux pearls with a pale pink cast that also measure about 5mm. Behind each pearl is a pair of flashy rhinestones that have a light pinkish-orange color that isn’t showing up well in the photographs. At the tip of each point is a bright orange rhinestone that is set a little deeper to give more dimension to the piece. All of the rhinestones measure about 4mm each. The back has a hinged pin and a locking clasp. The solid back has a textured appearance the resembles many of DeNicola pieces. This piece is not signed or marked anywhere but it does have the quality and composition of the De Nicola pieces of the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Overall this measures about 1 ¾” by nearly 2” and is in very good condition with minimal wear. There are no missing stones and no noted damage. The clasp works properly.
