Vintage Tape Measure - Figural Celluloid, Indian Boy with Tomahawk
This old celluloid tape measure is in the form of an Indian boy. The colorful little brave has wide eyes, a round figure, and is wearing a full feathered headdress. He is holding a small tomahawk and is nicely detailed with fringe on the sides of his pants and his pigtails down his back. On the back it is marked; Made in Japan with a "T" inside of an oval, logo. The yellow cloth tape pulls out from the side and has inches on one side and centimeters on the other and is marked Japan.
It measures about 2 5/8" tall and is in very good condition with minimal wear. There is a scratch in the paint across his forehead as shown in the photo. The tape pulls out and retracts well with very minimal wear. It was apparently printed a bit off at the beginning with the partial numbers at both the top and bottom edge and the increments barely visible until after the 2" mark. This was a manufacturing flaw.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
