This old incense burner of an Oriental girl with big almond shaped eyes was probably made by Schafer & Vater around the 1920's. The back is open and the top, back side of her head has a hole to act as a vent. An incense cone would be placed in the bottom allowing smoke to emit through the hole at the top. The bottom is stamped Made in Germany. Although it does not have the S & V mark, I have now seen one that was marked and am sure this one was also made by them.
It measures about 4 1/8" high with the base measuring about 1 1/2" deep and is in nice condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. The paint is in good condition with minor wear.
