This old platter has nice graphics but I have been unable to identify what restaurant or railroad might have used it. The ceramic is a white ground with green decorations. The oval plate is encircled with a band that has a geometric design separated by individual pictures. A the top center is the profile of an Indian brave. Going to the right there’s a crossed arrow and piece pipe, crossed tomahawks and a repeat of the arrow & piece pipe. Opposite the Indian head is a bow & arrow then a repeat of the crossed tomahawks then a quiver with arrows and a pair of snowshoes. On the bottom it is stamped; Burley & Co. Chicago - Made in Germany - Colors Under glaze - Design Patented. There is also an incised number that appears to be 148.
It measures about 13 ¼” by 9 1/8” and it sits about 1 3/8” off the table. It is in good condition with minor scratch and scuff wear to the surface and no other damage.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
