This beautiful, star burst or snow flake, is an old pin as well as a pendant and dates from the early 1900's. It is 14k yellow gold set with 48 seed pearls of varying sizes with a small, 2-3pt royal blue sapphire in the center. The seed pearls vary not only in size but also in color ranging from cream to pink to gray. The gold work is beautiful with tiny gold bead droplets enhancing the pearls. On the back there is a loop at the top so it can be worn as a pendant instead of as a brooch. The pin on the back has a has a locking closure for security. The back is stamped 14K and there is also an arrow which would probably be a makers trade mark.
It measures about 1 3/8" in diameter and is in very nice condition with no damage.
