This Elgin Watch Oil bottle comes with its original dauber lid, box and instruction sheet. Printed on the front of the bottle is; M-56a - Pat. Pending. The bottle is glued into a maroon colored plastic base that is marked “Elgin” on both the front and back. The bottle has a maroon colored Bakelite lid but also comes with a matching lid that has a glass rod dauber. The bottle measures about 2 ¼” tall and the base measures about 1 ¾” by 1”. It and the daubing lid are in very good condition with minimal wear. The bottle still contains about half of the oil, presumably original.
The bottle and dauber come in the original box that reads; Elgin National Watch Co. Elgin, U.S.A. $1.50. On the top it reads; M 56-a Watch Oil. The box measures about 2 ½” high by 2 ¾” by 1 ¼” and is in fair condition with some soiling and stain wear. Also included is an 8 3/8” by 10 ¾” sheet of instructions on using the oil. It appears to be a parchment paper and is in nice condition with original crease wear.
