This old, hardbound book is titled; The Amy Vanderbilt Complete Book of Etiquette - A Guide to Contemporary Living. This fundamental handbook to social living was Revised and Expanded by Letitia Baldrige with drawings by Mona Marks. The book deals with almost every aspect of accepted social behavior. From the proper things to do in regards to weddings and other ceremonies to the basics of setting a table and greeting guests, Amy’s standards still apply. Gift giving, manners of introductions and etiquette of flag handling are just a sampling of the many tips you’ll find in this book that should be in every family’s library. It has 879 pages including the extensive index. It was published by Doubleday, a division of Doubleday Dell Publishing Group, Inc. with the last copyright of 1978. No dust jacket.
It measures about 6 3/8” by 9 ½” by 1 5/8” and is in fairly good, used condition with minimal wear. The pages are generally clean and the spine is tight. The previous owner’s name is written in the book on two pages. She, the previous owner, also underlined and highlight several passages in the first ten pages. A few of the page have creased corners. The hardbound, linen cover is basically clean with light edge and corner wear.
