This simple little ring is made of yellow gold with a faceted amethyst and two small, round diamonds. The oval amethyst is rich lavender but not a deep purple. It is set with four prongs with a tiny, four prong set diamond near each end. The band style is called bypass and the flared ends has a slightly burnished finish. Rings of this style were often sold as birthstone rings and amethyst is considered the traditional birthstone for February. The inside of the band is marked 10K and “Spring”. I believe this is from the 1950’s or 1960’s.
The ring measures between a size 5 1/2 and a size 6 according to my ring mandrel. The stone measures about 7mm by 5mm and the two faceted, round diamonds are about 2-3pt each. The ring is in nice vintage condition with average age wear and not abused.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
