Vintage, Celluloid Miniature, Roly Poly Pig
This tiny pig figure is an old celluloid roly poly toy. The pig looks prepared for a hearty meal with what appears to be a knife in one hand and a large spoon in the other. He’s wearing a wide bib which is tied in a bow at the back of his neck. There is another large bow on the back which is apparently a sash around his waist. His beady little eyes, eyebrows and mouth are all hand painted. His outfit is painted a pale blue and the bow at his waist is pale red. He sits on a round weighted base which allows him to wobble back and forth when touched. I have been unable to find any markings but would assume it was made in Germany in the 1920’s.
He measures only 2 1/8” tall and is in very nice condition with no damage to the celluloid. The paint is weak but may not have been very bright to start with.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
