This is a really cute, old juice reamer with its original box. The body has two handles and a pour spout. On the front there are three yellow chicks playing jump rope. The top and bottom edge are trimmed with two thin lines of pink and blue. The lid has the ribbed reamer for juicing the fruit and there are holes at the base of the dome for straining juice to enter the pitcher base. This size was often considered a baby’s juice reamer and with the original blue box it could have been intended for a baby boy. The bottom has a triangular logo with GW Co. and it is also stamped; Made in Japan.
The base portion measures about 2 ¼” high, 3 5/8” in diameter at the bottom and about 5” across at the handles. Over all it measures about 4 ¼” high with the reamer on the base. The outside of both pieces are is evenly crazed and may have been that way when it was originally fired. The bottom and inside are not crazed which could be due to a different glaze being used. Other than the crazing there are no chips or damage.
It comes with its original box that has a corrugated liner and insert piece. The outside of the box is blue and white polka dots and on the bottom is a label with the GW Co. that matches the mark on the reamer.
The box measures about 4” by 4” by 3 1/8” and is in fair condition with age wear. The box is generally in tact but there are tears and cardboard deterioration and soiling.
