This old, children’s book titled Danny Dunn and the Homework Machine, written by Jay Williams and Raymond Abrashkin, was apparently the 3rd in a series of Danny Dunn short novels. The science fiction/adventure story centers around a computer and the preface actually gives reference to the IBM company (this was written in the late 50’s). It has 141 pages with a 1958 copyright date by the authors. This First Edition from 1959 was published by Whittlesey House, a division of the McGraw-Hill Book Company. This is one of the many books that was offered by the Weekly Reader Children’s Book Club. Hardbound cover, no dust jacket.
It measures about 5 ½” by 8 ¼” by ½” and is in fairly good condition. The inside pages are yellowed from age but mostly crisp and clean with a minimal amount of wear. The spine is generally tight but it is starting to tear away at the last several pages as shown in the close-up. The hard cover has minimal edge wear and light soiling, there is a tear on the upper edge of the spine, also shown in the photos. The inside back pages has been written on in pen by a previous owner.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
