This beautiful old coin was Mexico’s first 100 pesos coin, minted in 1977. On one side is an image of General Morelos. It reads; Cien Pesos - 1977 - Plata Pura 20 Gr - Ley .720. Basically it is 20 grams (approximately 0.64 troy ounces) of .720 fine pure silver, minted in Mexico. The reverse side has the Seal of Mexico, the iconic image of an eagle with a snake in its beak. The eagle appears to be perched upon a cactus plant. A wreath of sorts partially encircles the eagle with the words; Estatos Unidos Mexicanos
The coin measures about 1 ½” in diameter and is in nice, circulated condition retaining most of the detail. There is some minor soiling or discoloration. This has not been graded.
