This old, vertical pocket tin was for Velvet Pipe & Cigarette Tobacco. The colorful red tin has a picture of both a smoking pipe and a lit cigarette on the front. On the back is information about the Kentucky Burley tobacco. This was manufactured by Liggett & Meyers Tobacco Co. as shown on one side panel and the other panel reads; Factory No.74 First District of Missouri. Across the top of the hinged lid there is tape reside from the tax label that use to be on it.
The empty tin measures about 4 3/8” high by 3” wide by 15/16” thick and is in fairly nice condition with good gloss and minor dents. It has some light scratches and rub wear and on the front of the lid there are considerable scratches to the paint. There is a little residue of the tax label on the two side panels.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
