This vintage medical tin once contained 18, Small Size, Chi-Ches-Ters, Diamond Brand Pills. It lists the active ingredient as Potentilla Anserine (silverweed). Apparently this herbal remedy was pretty much good for whatever ailed you but there is no indication on the tin what ailments it cured. This was distributed by Chichester Chemical Co. of Phladelphia. Two panels of the tin give warnings about counterfeits of this product. One end reads; New Style - Adopted June 1939. On the inside of the hinged lid is a picture of a young woman’s face with a gold crescent moon and again there is a warning to beware of counterfeits and imitations. Overall the tin is quite fancy in red, black and gold with a shiny blue interior. There is still a piece of an original paper label on the bottom. There is also a small tab punched into the metal of the bottom but I’m not sure what purpose it had.
It measures about 2 ½” by 1 ½” by 1 1/8” high and is in very good condition with minimal wear or paint loss.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
