These old stereoptic photos feature four different areas. When these are viewed through a stereoscope viewer, the two identical picture merge as one and give the illusion of being 3-D. The cards were published by the Keystone View Company.
Card #161 pictures the lighthouse and the Spanish, Morro Castle situated on the harbor. The back of the card has an historic description of the picture on the front with the heading; Morro Castle plus more.
Card #86 shows a man standing next to the Aztec Calendar stone in the National Museum of Mexico. The description on the back of the card has the heading; The Aztec Calendar Stone.
Card # 124 features; Peruvian Indians on Throne of the Empire of the Incas and Ruins of Fortress of Sacsahuaman Hill near Cuzco. The heading on the back of the card reads; Fortress of Sacsahuaman and Throne of the Incas.
Card # 144 is a bird’s eye view of Rio taken from a hilltop above Botafogo - S.E. toward Sugarloaf Mountain and the Bay. The heading on the back of the card reads; Rio de Janeiro, The Metropolis of Brazil.
Each card measures about 3 3/8” by 7” and is in very good condition with minimal wear. The cards have a natural curve to them so they do not lie flat.
