This old oiler looks like an old fountain pen at first glance. It is has a plastic handle to hold the oil and a screw in, aluminum end with a needle like tip. The point of the tip is spring tension that can be depressed to place a spot of oil exactly where it is needled. The tip end has a brass colored cover to protect it. The pocket clip on the lid reads; U.S.A. Dill-Cleve. It measures about 5 ½” long with the cap on and is very nice condition with minimal wear.
It comes with part of its original box which identifies it as a Pres-To-Oiler by the Dill Mfg. Co. of Cleveland, Ohio. The box also has directions and suggestion for the oiler’s use. There is a patent date that would date this to about 1940. The box measures about 5 ½” in length and is in fairly good condition with edge wear and soiling, however most of the end flaps are either torn off of missing completely.
