This small metal globe is an old, figural pencil sharpener. It has nice color and detail for a simple little toy. Some indicators like; Russian Empire, Chinese Empire and Persia might date this to the early 1900’s, possibly prior to 1920, but keep in mind that this was a toy and not necessarily meant to be geographically correct. The white metal pencil sharpener is painted copper color and inserts into the bottom of the globe. The globe separates in the middle so you can empty the graphite shavings. There are no markings of origin on the globe but the sharpener is marked; Japan.
It measures about 1 ¾” in diameter and is in good condition with minor wear. Including a little discoloration at the seam around the middle and some tiny specks off the litho.
