Old, Frank Whiting, Sterling Silver, Pierced Olive Spoon
This vintage, sterling silver spoon was made by Frank M. Whiting & Co. of Massachusetts. This long handled, pierced bowl spoon is in the Athene pattern which is also known as Crescendo. It is an attractive, scrolled pattern that has detailing down the entire shaft of the spoon. The bowl has a decorative, pierced design, it does not have a gold wash. On the front of the handle it is nicely monogrammed with the letter "B". On the back of the handle it is marked Sterling along with the company logo as well as being marked Pat'd '98.
This is the long handle serving spoon and the overall length is approximately 8 3/8" and the bowl measures about 1" wide. It is in very good condition with minor wear. The end of the bowl appears to be just slightly misshapen.
