Old Wind Up Toy - Ball and Kitty with Original box
This cute, vintage wind-up toy is a plush white kitten playing with a colorful celluloid ball. When it is wound by the attached key the cat moves its paw back and forth moving the ball that is on a spring. His head also moves slightly as though actually watching the movement of the ball. The tin and cardboard body is plush covered and it has green plastic eyes and a little red plastic nose. The tin bottom is marked; Made in Japan. It comes with it colorful box that show a brown kitten playing with the ball. Even the sides of the slip in lid have cat faces. The box reads Ball and Kitty - Made in Japan and has a logo that looks like mountains and two M's. I believe it is from the 1950's.
The measures about 5 ¼" to the top of his ears and is in very good, working condition with minimal wear. His head spins 360 degrees when not running but when turned to look at the ball it works as previously stated. The box measures about 4 3/8" by 5 3/8" by 3" and is in fairly good condition with nice color. It has crease and edge wear and one corner of the lid is torn.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
