Would'st Thy Fortune Like to See? Taltos Fortune Telling Teacup ~ Jon Anton ~ England
"Would'st thy fortune like to see? Perchance this teacup will show it to thee" is written on this Taltos Fortune Telling Teacup.
This (original "Taltos" fortune telling) teacup and saucer set, from Jon Anton and made in England ~ features zodiac (horoscope) symbols encircling the saucer with a center lucky Shamrock, with the teacup featuring fortune-telling symbols, around the interior of the bowl (such as heart & hand, keys, blue moon, snake, and more) and an old-sailing ship in the center.
Fortune telling teacups have been used to "forsee" the future, by the pattern of tea-leaves (also known as Tasseography) for centuries ... and became a favorite parlor game-pastime, of the Victorian era.
In excellent (appears never used) condition, and all graphics and symbols with vibrant coloring. Teacup is incised "England" on base, with backstamp: The Taltos Fortune Telling Teacup ~ Jon Anton ~ Made in England for A.G.D. & Registration #947345/6.
