Vintage Pair of Occupied Japan Double Candle Holders

Here is a nice set of double candle holders, one with a Colonial man, and the other with a Colonial woman seated figurines in the middle of the candle cups. They stand about 3 3/4 inches high and the bases measure 1 3/4 inches x 4 inches.

The male figure seems to have some hair issues, I can't tell if someone touched it up, or if the orange like glaze was not applied in that portion. On the bottom he is marked Made In Occupied Japan but parts look worn off.

The female figurine is lovely and is more clearly marked Made In Occupied Japan.
