The a complete set of The Harmsworth Encyclopaedia: Everybody's Book of Reference in 8 volumes. The books are three-quarters bound in a red leather (the spine, corners, and part of the cover are leather). The part of the cover is a very nice red grained cloth. There is wear to the corners and spine commensurate with age of the books. The spines have 5 raised edges, and two text blocks of black and red leather. One of the volumes is missing the upper or black text block. The end pages are beautifully marbleized, as is the edges of each volume. The text pages are clean, and the text of each volume is complete.
This is a very nice c. 1900 encylopaedia. It contains over 50,000 articles and the books are illustrated. More than 6400 pages. Published by The Amalgamated Press, LTD, and Thomas Nelson and Sons, London.
