1909 English Sterling Silver 10 Piece Manicure Set
This is a lovely English sterling silver, hallmarked, manicure set in the original leather case with the name of the silver smith marked on the
inside silk top. The makers name is Elkington and worked in Birmingham England. The hallmarks dates to. C.1909.
This manicure set has ten different items and each item is hallmarked. The pieces include: two sterling silver lidded jars, one nail buffer, two sterling silver handled scissors, one small nail brush and one each of the addition utensils: nail file, cuticle push, a pair of tweezers and a sharp nail cleaner.
This beautiful leather case has a wonderful designed to fit all items. There is a hand painted gold outline on the inside and on the lid of the case setting off the presentation of the items. The leather lid does show the wear that would protect the items during travel or non-use. Each item has its own molded space inside the case. The silk lining shows its 100+ year old wear of light splits on the side of the fabric and darken white color.
This manicure set has a charming design and could be a gift or addition to a collection.
