English Leather Flask Pewter Cup, Dixons & Son's, Sheffield
This is a glass flask covered on the top half with brown leather with the design to include key holes on each side to see the level of the liquid in the flask. The brown leather is in top notch condition. The glass is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The flask has a pewter screw off lid, and a removable pewter cup covering the the bottom of the flask. The cup is engraved with the script initials J.V.P. On the bottom of the cup is bugle maker's mark for Dixons' Son's. Below the bugle is "James Dixons Son's, Sheffield, England. To the left on the bottom is the mark, 1/4 Pt, and on the right is number 2.
The flask measures 5 3/8 inches high, 3 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches deep. This flask holds 6 ounces, while the cup will hold a little more than 3 1/2 ounces of liquid.
A wonderful flask in very good condition, and ready to use.
