1870 English Salt Glaze Jug
A lovely English salt glaze. jug The diamond register mark dates this to November 10, 1870. The makers mark and the pattern name is a bit difficult to read. What we have found is the partition words of ‘Marnr” and part of the word ‘Cobridge’.
This jug was molded in two forms and then put together and the handle was applied. There is a small nick to the spout. Measurements: 6 1/8 inches high, 6 3/8 inches from the spout to the handle edge. This may have been a water jug, and is very attractive and could be used.
