English Hexagon Jug. C.1835, Pattern name Bacchanalian Cherubs’ by Patterson
A Wonderful English Jug. C.1835. The pattern name is ‘Bacchanalian Cherubs’ by Patterson & Co. This pitcher/Jug measures 6 1/4 inches high and 7 inches from handle edge to spout rim. This hexagon jug is 5 1/4 inches across from one side to another.
A Bacchanalian design, hallmarked on the bottom of jug, is of a group of inebriated Cherubs in a garden. Condition: Near Excellent. There is a pearlware glaze to this jug and the handle is of a creeping type of serpent. No user cracks or chips. The hand painted colors were added before the final glaze. Brown transfer with added colors.
